Octocon Radio Play Returns for 2001 8 Apr 2001

One of the most popular events of Octocon 2000, the radio play, will be back this year. This time the first two episodes of a six-part series will be recorded at the convention.

We are delighted to once again have the involvement of Roger Gregg, who masterminded last year's radio play, and we look forward to building on that this year.

Anne McCaffrey confirmed as Guest of Honour 7 Jan 2001

The organisers of Octocon have announced that Anne McCaffrey, creator of the phenomenally successful Dragonriders of Pern series of novels and author of such memorable stories as The Ship Who Sang and The Crystal Singer, will be Guest of Honour at Octocon 12 which will take place on October 13 and 14 2001.

"We are delighted to have Anne McCaffrey as our Guest of Honour," said Octocon Chairperson, Ruth Cassidy. "Anne is an immensely popular writer and has attended many of the last eleven Octocons, but never as Guest of Honour. We felt it was high time we acknowledged her contribution to the success of Octocon in the past."
